Mikail Malik, Producer and Presenter at TRT World

I’m a producer and field reporter focused on telling the human stories behind the data. At TRT World’s award-winning climate and environment series Just 2 Degrees, I research, produce, and edit long-form packages, develop graphics, film on location, and book guests, contributing to two 26-minute episodes each week. From reporting at COP summits to working in remote communities on the climate frontlines, my work examines how policy decisions translate into loss, resilience, and questions of justice. Alongside this, I am a producer and presenter for TRT World’s digital series The Real Question, scripting and presenting original video content across TRT World’s digital platforms. My reporting spans geopolitics, injustice, discrimination, and social inequality, with a focus on how power, policy, and global systems shape everyday lives

Climate Correspondent

reporting from COP30 in Belem, Brazil

'We need to stop using fossil fuels to halt global warming, and politicians must be held accountable.' This is the pledge from activists from around the world, gathered in the Brazilian city of Belem for the UN's annual climate summit, COP30. Many stress that not enough is being done, though some say there is still hope. Mikail Malik has more from Belem.
