Mikail Malik, Award-winning Producer and Presenter 

I’m a Gold Telly Award-winning journalist and Producer at Al Jazeera in Doha, working across digital video, broadcast and field journalism. My reporting focuses on the human stories behind global events, examining how politics, conflict and policy shape everyday lives.

Before joining Al Jazeera, I spent three years at TRT World in Istanbul, producing international news and current affairs across broadcast and digital platforms. At the award-winning climate and environment programme Just 2 Degrees, I produced and reported long-form stories from COP summits to communities on the climate frontlines, exploring how policy decisions translate into loss, resilience and questions of justice. My work was recognised as a finalist at the 2025 Save the Children Global Media Awards.

My experience spans the full editorial process, from researching and pitching stories to interviewing, scripting, filming, editing and presenting. I have reported and produced across the Middle East, Europe, South Asia and North America, with a particular interest in conflict, human rights, climate and social inequality.

Across my work, I’m interested in the intersection of politics, power and people, and in telling stories that challenge conventional narratives while keeping the people living through them at their centre.
